Crescer e Viver

(meaning To Grow and Live) aims to impact lives and transform contexts through art. Created in 2001 as a social circus project, Crescer e Viver expanded its programs, projects, and activities to the fields of training, production, diffusion, and enjoyment of circus arts. It consolidated itself as a socio-cultural enterprise and is now one of the most significant organizations of its kind in Brazil.

Crescer e Viver uses culture and circus arts as a central element of a performance which generates multiple opportunities for personal and collective ascension to young people.

They do not discriminate or deny membership to anyone based on social status, class, race, gender, or body type.
All are welcome who have a willingness and commitment to learn and join their family.

OUR TEAMWORK

Rise Up & Care provided four annual grants to Crescer e Viver to support both the innovative social circus and the transformative professional circus.

When Rise Up & Care first visited us at the circus saying that Junior and I were superheroes and they wanted to be invisible sidekicks, we laughed. Lots of people visit with lots of big talk. But, to see these individuals that we just met laying out the program of how they provide funds and they wanted to partner with several organizations, it was magic! The biggest benefit was not the money, but the sensation of confidence, reciprocity, solidarity. We must also mention the film, “Gira & the Circus of Life,” directed by Katia Lund and produced by Rise Up & Care. This film opened so many doors for the Crescer e Viver Circus, so that the world could know what w Edouard and whom we do it for.
